Mary King's Close
The open question
They built a new civic building right on top of a lived-in street. How many other closes are still down there?
On the record
A street of houses under the City Chambers on the Royal Mile. It was partly demolished and buried when the Royal Exchange was built over it from 1753; the last resident left in 1902.
