Kindertransport

The open question

Why are the records on these children so thin, sealed or lost?

On the record

The Kindertransport (German for "children's transport") was an organised rescue effort of children from Nazi-controlled territory that took place in 1938–39 during the nine months prior to the Second World War. From the port, a train took some of the children to Liverpool Street station in London, where they were met by their volunteer foster parents.
